About Pamodzi Denmark
Pamodzi Denmark, abbreviated Pamodzi DK, is an association of people of Zambian origin and other people who are connected to Zambia.
Our Vision
Our vision is to improve interrelation and integration of Zambians in Denmark.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a stronger sense of belonging to Denmark and Zambia, to create a platform for the exchange of experience for our members and to support local development projects in Zambia.
Our Value Preposition
We as Pamodzi Denmark need to identify ourselves properly, so that new members cannot be in doubt of who we are and what they can expect to benefit from the association/organisation. Below are our core values that we want to characterise us as Pamodzi.
Our Values
RESPECT
We value that our members understand the society we are living in and respect each other. Respect in a broad sense actually entails that our members not only should relate this to the act of respecting each other but that they should accord respect to the new society and its norms.
FAMILY BOND
Needless to say, many of our members have understanding of the need for family and do see the importance of this in their lives here. We want to encourage that this basic value be imparted to the coming generations of the children that are born in Denmark as well.
HELP TO SELF HELP
Ironically speaking, one could see this as a contradiction to our core value of togetherness. But the meaning behind this is that we are strong believers in the uniqueness of every individual and we therefore encourage our members to see their personal growth potential as a strength.
We are Pamodzi as a team, but we also acknowledge that we are different individuals who should be strong and be good in doing what we are best at doing and therefore helping each other become better.
TOGETHERNESS
This is indisputably a core value for us and hence our name. We share a common sense of belonging to both Zambia and Denmark and are cognisant of the fact that betterment of self is best achieved with both the help of others and help to others
SHARING KNOWLEDGE
As a core value for Pamodzi Denmark, knowledge sharing is undisputable. We want to grow our data capacity as far as information related to how to settle in Denmark, where to find a language course, etc. is concerned. As long as we are alive and living, we should admit that we are learning every day. Each one of us has therefore a lot to share with our “beloved ones”. This natural truth is important for our members to understand and fulfil.
CROSS CULTURAL DIVERSITY
By virtue of our being, Pamodzi Denmark believes in a multicultural society and will continue to encourage its members to respect each other’s cultural differences. Though not positively accepted in other circles, we desire to see the growth of better understanding among cultures. There is synergy in cultural diversity
More about us
Our membership is open to all friends of Zambia in Denmark.
Pamodzi Denmark members are primarily the new-Danes of Zambian origin and their households and families, Zambians living in Denmark and their households and all those people with relations to Zambia. Many people have relations to Zambia either because of previous work or visits. Others are involved in charity work through sponsorship of projects, children etc.
We are an umbrella organisation, and anyone with relations to Zambia (no matter how) who are willing to participate in achieving the purpose of the organization will be accepted as a member together with their families.
Membership application or registration happens her at this site using the enrolment form. You can also choose to enroll by email by writing to info@pamodzi.dk or pamodzidk@gmail.com.
The membership is valid upon payment of a membership fee. The membership scheme is divided in three tiers.
The benefits of the different types of fees are detailed on our blog here on the site.
Termination of membership
Membership termination must be delivered in writing to the cashier and will be terminated quarterly. In principle, lack of payment of membership fees creates a kind of termination state, but we know from experience that “all of us” can forget, due to being busy. So it is allowed/accepted to delay with the payment, although we encourage all to pay at the beginning of the year and latest before the annual general meeting which usually takes place between February and May every year.
